About Us
I've been a fisherman all my life, starting at my Papa's pond, where I developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Alongside fishing, I’ve always had a passion for taking things apart, figuring out how they work, and pushing the limits of what’s possible—a joke my wife and I call "Extreme DIY." This curiosity led me to Clemson University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. I spent 14 years as a food chemist, but over time, I realized I wanted to take my skills in a new direction—one where I could build, innovate, and create something truly unique.

In 2021, I founded Reaction Composites with a vision to manufacture high-performance carbon fiber components using filament winding. I built the first shop from the ground up and designed, built, and programmed our custom 4-axis filament winder—complete with servo-controlled precision, touchscreen operation, automatic epoxy dosing, and tension control. I also engineered and constructed the curing oven that strengthens our parts and a stress-strain test stand to validate our FEA models, ensuring every product meets the highest standards of durability and performance.

By 2024, I took Reaction Composites full-time, committed to producing American-made components from American-sourced materials. Filament winding provides a unique advantage in sporting goods and marine applications, allowing us to craft lightweight, ultra-strong components that outperform traditional materials. Every piece we make reflects the same hands-on craftsmanship, engineering precision, and relentless drive for quality that got me here in the first place.
